Bulb dimensionsHi guys, was wondering if someone knows the length of interior light bulb? i was going to get one of those led festoon ones, so thought i would take it out and check dim. But silly me just stuck a key behind it to pry out and it was on and blew it and blew it apart and cant find all bits.
what i can roughly get is about 30mm long.

I'm not sure of the actual length of festoon globes, but there are two commonly used types.
Interior light sized that are usually around 3 or 5 watts. These are generally slightly shorter and off a smaller diameter.
The more powerful ones are usually about 18 or 21 watts. These are generally used in flashers or for brake lights. DO NOT use these larger ones in your interior light fitting, as the heat produced will quickly destroy or badly distort the plastic lens.
If the length varies, it is not a big deal as you can gently bend the spring contacts to suit. Make sure that there is enough spring in the contacts to hold the globe in place when driving over a bumpy road.
They are available in at least two voltages, 6 or 12 volt. make sure you get the correct voltage for your car.

In York the other day and called into Alternative Energy Shop- they sell radios and lots of other electronic gear and they had new range of LED lights.
Some are similar to camper internal lights and now have similar capacity as 12v camper lights. No need for wiring and you can place anywhere.
Around $19.95
