"The events include a welcome dinner, show and shine, motorsports, presentation dinner, farewell activities and in later years an extended tour that allows members to continue the celebration of the VW by touring in convoy on the much loved Australian pastime of the "road trip".

The 2009 extended tour plans to cross the Australian Alps so after 40 years we may repeat the experience of the inaugural Bug-In and feature snow."
