Brunswick Green BessieHave finally given bessie the touch up with the paint tins. Got sick of all her patches, hence the colour change. All costs totall 200 bucks. Im not into spending thousands for paint job. As long as she looks nice thats fine. The first part of the paint job was done about a week ago, when we had some sun. then had to wait till this week for more sun. I painted her right where she stood, as have no shed. I dint think the pics look as good as i thought they would. trying to get the right angle and sun and shade factor etc,

Looks good Brian- wish I could do things like that.
What did you do to poptop-it also looks very smooth and clean.

Wow, it's hard to recognise Bessie! She looks good, Brunswick Green is certainly an interesting colour (maybe a Rover engine should be next? ).
So, how did you do it (eg roller, brush, spray?)? Did you mask off the door handles, badge, windows etc or did you remove them? What sort of paint did you use (it seems cheap - maybe we can do similar with Loona)? Did you also repaint the poptop?

woz, i think it would be a nice cheap way for alice to do. i walked across the road to bunnings and bought rattle cans. i took of bumpers and badges etc, masked all windows, door handles etc. the canopy i painted a year ago, that was with a brush.

I used rattle can enamel on Woger's sliding door about 18 months ago, and then redid it earlier this year.... sanding it back just gobbed up all my sanding disks, and I swear it didn't look as shiny.

steve, to be honest, i thought about leaving her bum off. then decided she did not look the part. but your bessie suits being naked at the back end.

I like the bumperless look too (but you might have to paint Bessie's exhaust...).
Woger has a towbar though so it wouldn't work on him - and anyway, the bumper is the only real clue on a 72 that it is a lowlight!

woz, exhaust was painted one year ago. better of saving money than doing that again. 20 buck tin of paint from autobarn, heat will always bring back the rust look. better off save the money for something nice.

Too late! ... I bought some "Heat Proof" paint just today, supposedly good to 650C, cast-iron colour. I might as well use it now!

Well yours looks a lot better than mine! (brown just doesn't match Woger!), so I will spray it anyway... I think "cast iron" colour might look more "natural" as it burns off anyway...
Looking at that poptop reminds me that I need to buy one of those big folding ladders so I can safely paint mine (and get rid off all the moss and lichen)... Bessie's looks good!
