Thanks brookie..........i am a bit further ahead with bonnie now as i have the entire hood lining covered in fur....sounds sad i know but looks good...I wonder how piratekombi put his pics on....will have to ask.....
Brookie

Bonnie

Piratekombi

Hey, that looks great archeress! And I would be interested in checking out pictures of the fur headlining... !

Is the top colour Antarctic White? It's a great white, similar to the colour I was thinking of for mine...

I ntoice Bonnie seems to be leaning back a bit, or the front is slightly raised - is the engine that big and heavy?? Very Happy Woger has a similar lean, but forwards... I wanted to lower the back a notch to even it up, but Alice insisted on me keeping it!

Well done, it looks a great bus, I look forward to meeting Bonnie in person!
The archeress

Ok all....i have figured out how to get the pics up......here are some that very recent but havent taken one yet of the hood lining...will do later...

The archeress

Amongst other things.......i have had the bumper powdercoated, all flooring grinded out and coated with rustkill primers, vinyl flooring, painted the dashboard in a nice midnight blue, Have a new steering wheel cover courtesy of necros designs, furry hoodlining, 3000 dollars of roadworthy, Have done all the vinyl myself but am going to change it to another blue. at the moment she is up at buderim having brakes tightened and handbrake repaired, also a srvice and most importan..a new alternator put in as the last one suffered a meltdown..not cheap....
Philia

Lovely Bus Archeress; think I might have seen it near the Sunshine coast looks even better in real life.
I love the steering wheel cover, very professional Smile
Gabbo's Run

The archeress

Thanks for the compliments...i shall try not to misconstrue words...a new beginning..a couple of beers also...when i get bonnie back from mechanic i shall take a couple of pics of new furry hoodlining..........cheers kel

Perhaps the "clown" should be on here Wink

--------------------------------------------
The archeress

I am sure he will come sooner or later though i am sure he is as busy as a bee with all his products that he makes these days.......
Moneypenny

archeress - I am most impressed with Bonnie - especially the unusual angle of the blue stripe at the front of the bus... I've never seen that before.

I am also impressed with the steering wheel cover - will have to get me one when I return... I believe the clown still resides in Melbourne...
The archeress

Thanks there moneypenny.....I shall have 3 or 4 new pics taken and posted here when she gets back from mechanic....She has been a pleasure to drive really.........
lola

Kel, she looks lovely (as ever) but I'm dead keen to see those furry headline pics please....

Bonniebelle looks a bright and happy bus. Must take after the owner Very Happy

-------------------------------------------------
The archeress

Yes brookie thats how she has emerged after 8 months. We didnt plan on any theme in the beginning but rather just to spruce her up after i got down and grinded all of the floor that needed it, then painted and jigsawed my interior panels...A theme has begun to emerge in a shagadelic, flowery ,happy, bright way. I suppose its not for everyone but i feel happy whenever i get in and take the the reins.
shaven

archeress...
how warm & fuzzy is this ride... bugger going home living in a house... this is a cool ride. just love the head lining Wink
matty
Piratekombi

Wow, that would make lieing back, looking at the ceiling, a real pleasure... it looks so comfy, maybe you'll have to turn the kombi upside down when you go to bed. Laughing

Great job, I reckon it would also help in heat insulation, as well as keeping interior sound levels lower... so quite good indeed!
splitfamily4tune8*

good stuff kel............looks like bonniebelle sort of 'hugs' you when clamber inside Cool ..........
The archeress

Flowers Flowers everry where.

The archeress

ANDDDD MOOOOORRRE....Have i gone over board or what?....can she do with some more gerberas?.....Feel free to express you unsolicited opinion..I really dont mind...i can take it....no matter how critical...truly

The archeress

Diddlie

The archeress

Right....THATS IT....Anyone else want to rename my GERBERAS?......Brookie?....Philia?...shaven?.....anyone?
According to Don Burkes handbook of exotic flowers....Said variety are from the genus...creamus plasticus...of the spotlight aisle3 variety...
Daisies....i shake my head. Rolling Eyes
Brookie

Looks like plastica daisies to me Rolling Eyes

-----------------------------------------------------
Piratekombi

I thought they were dandelions....

Daisies... gerberas... chrysanthemums... artichokes.... they are all members of the asteraceae (sunflower) family so look fairly similar, especially with modern breeding (which makes them all look like mutants!)
Archeress

Latest pics of bonnie..New home made curtains...new seats courtesy of sheldon pierce here in caloundra....new carpet from bunnings....new R/R bed with hinges donated by "model jets".Dean...and a bean bag...amazing what you can do with iron on stickers.

Archeress

more.

Archeress

NOW HERE IS WHAT BONNIE IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE WITHIN HOPEFULLY 12 MONTHS...idea was mine but image is "the invisible smiths"

Scotia

looks like I am going to have to give spotlight a visit - I just love that headlining!
Archeress

trust me..it looks and feels softer than it looks in the photos.it waves in the breeze nd people want to run thier hands over it... Very Happy
Phat bus

That picture on the side is awesome. I had thoughts of something similar on my bus. Interior is great too Smile
Archeress

Thanks for that...i have two connections re the air brushing so will get further into it after all the blue comes off and i have resprayed entire bus in cream.   one thng at a time. Very Happy
Archeress

Archeress

bought BRMS from the bus stop and tyres are bridgestone turanzas...195's/65/R15's....man and they jusssst fit....
VLKSWGN

U got BRM's, wow! looks fantastic, they compliment a super kombi Cool

Steve
Archeress

cost a  mint too...stretching the card now....now i have ur attention...question....
What is the standard height for a bay...meaning how do i know how high..or low a bay should be as it came out of the factory..?...
reason i ask is that i am wondering if bonnie looks a little higher than usual...if so can it be lowered to the standard without all the stuffing around that people do when they seriously lower thier bus ?...does that make sense?.
VLKSWGN

Maybe just drop the front 1'', that way you will still have good clearance and it has a bit of a kool stance.....just my opinion, although it looks great now Cool

Steve
Archeress

I shall ask andy the mechanic when he arrives this morning to install a new CV and do my tappets.
Diddlie

Very nice Kel, very very nice.

Ground clearance for bay bus is 500mm front and rear- from factory manual
Height is 1940cm- vehicle unladen

----------------------------------
Piratekombi

How do you measure the ground clearance - from the jack points or from the lowest point?

Woger is higher at the back than the front, so rakes forward.... I always intended to lower the back to the correct height, but I now really like the look so it will be staying...  so maybe I should measure the clearance at the front apron?

Those BRMs look sensational Kel! I am really tempted (but won't), and I think Alice wants a pair now too! (eBay?)

You've done a great job thus far making Bonnie even more beautiful. Smile
Brookie

Piratekombi wrote:

Jack points are well below 500mm- I think it may be bottom of front beam and engine/bellhousing at rear.

Your BRMs look great as does the rest of Bonnibelle.
Keep the pics coming

Archeress

Hey i have learned how to change my own CV joints...yay...didnt realise they were so easy...tappets were trickier but im learning this morn and next time they need to be done i am going to do them under instruction from my mechanic...lovely fellah..
BJ

BRM's rock your bus looking great.... Nice Cool
Archeress

Looking like i am going to have to put the paint back a few months so have decided that the 3 back windows are coming out on saturday and one new window going in and 3 new rubber seals...i know i will have to do it again a few months but it looks awful, there are some leaks and i know i need to address some rust...so we will take pics..
