Antiques Fair VictoriaThe Fryerstown Antique Fair on the Australia Day Weekend is one of the largest in Australia attracting 30,000 people.
With a population of 120 it does a virtual Brigadoon with people from all over Australia, both vendors and buyers.
Buyers actually come from overseas .
It was started in 1976 by a group of 80 year old ladies as the town was dying and needed a boost.
Castlemaine Visitors Information
Near Daylesford it is in an attractive part of Victoria.

I love it up that way - great area, a former goldrush district with many stately buildings.... mmmm, and plenty of places to camp in the nearby forests (many of them former goldfields).... I might suggest it to Alice....

Might have to check this one out. cathy loves the antique fairs. we usually go to the warnambool one every year. We know the castlemaine area pretty well. we both worked there in 1971 at the woollen mill that was going them days. we even know daylesford as well and the surrounding district.

Cathy has another item to add to her collection, she wanted a corner unit to display her wares, but they were to dear and she couldnt fit enough to display. Then she found this old chippendale cabinet. Now she can bring more of the stuff out that was in cupboards etc. i even have a couple of toys underneath.
