Another from Perth

My son and I started the Kombi project together last August. He managed to cook the motor on his first trip south. Since then we've been trying to get her up and running again. Have joined KK as it has been recommend as a supportive friendly forum.

Hope to see you on the road eventually.

PS My son has gone OS for at least a year. He will expect her fixed when he gets back!

Hey there Steve, welcome to the Kombi Konnection! I expect you will find the forum as friendly as you hope - and coming from Perth, you will find plenty of knowledgable and experienced members close to you.

Good luck fixing the engine - it may be easier to look for a replacement on one of the auction sites (or from a fellow member).... at least you have a year to get it ready! Have fun, and don't forget to post up a couple of pix! Smile

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the Kombi Konnection.

Sorry to hear about the cooked motor in your bus.

I guess the quicker you get the motor fixed the more you get to cruise in her before your son gets back  Wink

You can actually get brand new VW factory motors (1600 twin port) from a few guys in Perth. (cost about 3k I think)

These are good option if staying stock.

I have taken advice for this forum and put the Kombi with Auto Europe. They sounded confident I'll be driving around soon. Thank you for your welcome. Look forward to a run with you all in the near future.

KOmbi Running

Auto Europe has done what 5 other 'experts' couldn't. The old girl is running. Great to have her on the road! I would never have gotten there without the help from KK. Thanks.
