I just want to clarify what time this starts.

Originally, it was 7.00pm but I noticed a lot of people saying 6.30pm now.

Whilst I have no problem in getting there by 6.30pm, a lot of people would struggle.

Remember that people have to travel from all corners of Perth to get to Guildford and most don't finish work until 5.00pm.

So far attendees have come from Rockingham, Freo, Sorrento etc and I know of others that haven't been able to make it although they have expressed a desire to.

We need to consider that some people have to get home first on public transport or sit in traffic jams before they drive across Perth again to Guildford in a car, they're VW, that is usually not the car they drive to work in.

I think that 6.30pm could be quite a disincentive to a lot of people and 7.00pm is more reasonable and would mean that people that can't get there until 7.30pm still feel it would be worthwhile.

Of course, not a problem to get there a little early if your keen, I am sure you won't be alone.
Mustard Man

Well said kingsley!!

Not like you can really rush anywhere in a kombi anyway!!!
VLKSWGN

The main reason why I get there 6:30-7:00 is because im starvin Very Happy

See all you good folk whatever time you arrive Cool no rush!

Steve
BJ

I originally posted a 7pm start but I was always one of the last to arrive, so thought that 6:30pm was the go.

A note to everyone.  Even during the coldest time of the year people are not leaving Alfreds until around 9pm and I think that the reason for this is the cold.  I predict that as it gets warmer and lighter  people will stay later.   It is not critical to arrive at any set time.  But like VLKSWGN I go for dinner and my belly can't wait Wink

So the official time is 7pm.  But as Kinga said be early and you wont be alone.

Come later and people will still be there too Cool
BJ

Due to the fire at the Guildford hotel there are some road closures in place.   This will only affect travellers from the East and people coming down Roe/Kalamunda Rd/Great Eastern   - Apparently you can still travel the usual direction into Guildford using Great Eastern but the road is closed at the end (opposite Alfreds) you are able to detor around the back of the Burned down pub using Helena and Ethel st.  See the map below.

I hope this has helped and not confused!
WAY2COOL

Hi BJ...Can we still get in if coming down West Swan Road...Cheers Kim
BJ

WAY2COOL wrote:

I understand that James St (part of Great Eastern Hwy) is closed East bound but if you look at the map I reckon that you can get around this by using the back streets (Helena st).

The road "may" be open tomorrow if the building is deemed safe

I am sure we'll all make it........
samblers

We'll be more like 7.30pm i reckon... save some burgers you greedy lot!
BJ

The next one is only around the corner so keep the evening free so you can attend.  The last one was a bit quite due to other happenings, lets get the numbers back up.........

New arrivals from the UK attending too Cool
