And here's how she looked last week
Yes the rot was baaad! All doors had to be replaced, and even a second hand B post on passenger side was needed. The panel man has clocked up around 260 hours and it still ain't finished, getting close tho. next is off to the sanblaster for the knooks and crannies plus a light going over everywhere else, a quick flick of epoxy primmer, then ready for fill and paint. Original colours sea blue/blue white....It's been an epic journey but there is light at the end of the tunnel

Re: 65 Devon RestoVery nice.
Looks like you've had some good metal work carried out on your bus.
Whats your plan for the bus..? keeping it stock..? maybe a little lowering job..? colour..? tell me more....
There looks to be a few projects in your garage including a panel...

Yeah there's a panel and a double cab the same panel man is doing. It's gona be a stocker, … My original plans were slammed on Fuchs, with safari’s, deluxe trim, chrome bumpers/pop outs etc, but as time went by (the budget shrunk, and I got older and more mature), I came around to the stock way of thinking. As much as I love slammed Kombi’s, it made sense being an original RHD camper, to take it back to standard. The original oak interior is mostly there, just missing a few bits which i can get made locally...

Taking on a project like this takes time, patience and of course money! Nice work. Is there a big scene over in NZ for you to get that inspiration and useful help.
Cant wait to see the finished project. Be sure to post some more pictures along the way though, thanks.

Well over a year has flown by since i last checked in But progress has been slow..it sat around the first paint shop for nearly 6 months, seems they were always going to "get onto it next week hopefully". So after kicking them into touch i moved onto a resto shop who specialize in Porsche, it was then discovered it needed quite a bit more panel work (a few things not too straight), so they took it to stage one (panel and prime). I decided to give myself a breather from bills and get it home where i could work on the underbelly. I have scrapped off all the underseal and painted with a rust inhibiting epoxy enamel. The beam and box are away getting spruced up and should be back soon so we can get her mobile again and off to the paint shop...I was hoping to have it ready for the Nationals next April but can't see it somehow - nevermind, i can take the Beetle
