1800 TIN WARE

Hi All,

Does anyone know a good link that shows how the tinware is mounted on the 1800 engine? I wish I had taken some photos of how it was screwed on  Embarassed

It is all that is stopping me from putting this engine back together again.

Silicone between tinware joints?

Does anyone think it would help to keep the air in the tinware by running a silicone bead wherever the the tinware joins other tinware ?

Just a thought, it may help direct more air by not allowing it to escape between the joints ?

What do you think ?

Thanks but as the intro shows the original purpose of The Kombi Konnection was to provide an easy source of info for Kombi owners.

This seems to show it is doing its job as well as introducing many Kombi owners Smile

No - I wouldn't bother but the most important seal in the engine bay is the foam one around engine perimeter. It is best to have join at back and shiny side down.

Have the egine almost back together, should be firing it up Sunday arvo.

I will have to go to the New Member section & introduce "Kalamunda"
