1800 Head DamageThis is head from 1800 that was beautifully maintained for something like 20 years by same VW specialist. Was then sold and new owners mate said he had great mechanic who can service it for you cheaply. As guy was going North in WA this genius mechanic took out foam seal to let more air in.
It WAS a very good motor and actually lasted nearly 2000ks.
The left port is No.3 of course.

A friend of mine's microbus (previously mine) was destroyed a few years back after an engine fire blamed on leaves being drawn into the bay due to an absent seal. The seal, of course, was removed by the local mechanic (non-VW) to increase air flow in the engine....
