1800 Gearbox married to 2lt Engine ?

Looking at upgrading my 1800 in my 75 Bay to a new 2lt but was told that a 2lt gearbox would be better suited. The 1800 gearbox will fit but has different gearing. Has anyone put a 2lt motor in and used the original 1800 gearbox. Suggestions welcomed. Will post some pic's of my van soon. Currently she is stripped out and is getting all new seats.

Anyone knowing of a 2lt gearbox (reco preferred) please drop me a message. The quicker I find one the quicker I can cruize with the Perth boys & girls..

The gearing is still very close and many Kombis have 1800 box and 2 litre engine. See Transmission section for ratio details etc.

The other way round is more difficult- you have to shorten front shift linkage by 10-12mm to get smooth shift.
