Hello

I am wanting to take the cross plys off and swap them back to my other tyres but I cant seem to find a shop that can balance the wheels aswell. Ive been to quite a few but they dont have a machine that can do it.

Does anybody know of a shop where I can get both the tyres changed over and balanced?

Thanks for your help Smile

Amanda

Hi Amanda, Bob Jane in Midland had the equipment to balance mine - I guess you have the original 5 stud (very wide) - But I ended up walking out of there, I asked them to remove the tyres and give me my rims back.

The guy had a VERY serious attitude problem.... This was sometime back, and probably a bad day for someone!

Hi Amanda.

A way around this problem is to have the tyres and wheels balanced on the vehicle. It's less accurate than having them done on a machine, but for a "slow" car like a Beetle it is good enough..

If you can find a shop which will do them that way, please let us know who they are, as this is a perenial problem.

Richard.

Most race cars are balanced this way and shops that can do 3 wheel bolt Peugeots/Renaults also have this type of machine.

Bob Jane Fremantle used to be able to do this on Kombis
