UK campsites which was very quiet have been replaced by this Forum for later model Kombis. Previous posts which are of interest have been moved to Kombi Stories.

The Wedge popularity is growing as you will see from UK sites and magazines. As Splits, Lowlights, late Bays become harder to aquire the Wedge will also go up in price.
With more room and comfort they are a nice alternative even if they don't have the charisma of earlier Type 2s

I used to think the wedges lacked charisma too... but I must admit that over the last couple of years they have really grown on me. They are certainly more attractive looking than non-VW makes!  I am especially fond of the aircooled (80-83 T25) models but I also admire the later water-cooled synchros which are great for going off-road (it's a pity that there were no models released here with the round headlights, though).  We often see a (water-cooled) T3 double-cab in our area - I reckon it looks like great fun...
