Looked like a very successful day with approx 20 Kombis inc 3 that were parked in street.
Many comments from public who had a kombi or someone they knew had one
Some early pics between Spencers Brook & Northam and in main street
Initial lineup

Very good day in Northam. The weather was cold but fine and there was a very good turn up of Kombis.
HOWEVER, I was very angry and disgusted to be asked for $10 for the priviledge of displaying my vehicle. My vehicle and the others that attended, WERE the dammed show, and to ask owners to pay so that civilians can see their vehicle is just not on! Frankly, I don't give a rat's a*** whether my vehicle is in a display or not!
There is a growing tendancy of people organising displays to try this stunt on! I did not pay it and will certainly not bother to attend next year unless I am assured that owners are not expected pay! This is a matter of principal.
The all British Day at Gingin certainly don't require payment for the display cars.
This was shown in the links to Day but I also disagree with $10 in principle but DOVW also costs- it also gave ticket in raffle etc
DOVW needs funds as they have trophies to pay for-not just the ones
that are donated

As I said, the all British Day in Gingin does not charge admission for display vehicles. Neither does the Annual Concours at Whiteman Park. And neither of these shows charge addmission to the general public.
I was told by the person at the gate that if I didn't pay, I wouldn't get the "show bag". One of the other KK guys showed me his bag which consisted of free adverts! I was not impressed! (and neither was he!)
As far as raffle tickets go, why don't the organisers just sell them like any other organisation does. Selling tickets around the ground to everybody there, will get them far more money!
Sorry to whinge Brookie, I know you're not responsible, but this needs to be nipped in the bud!
Some more vw pics of the day ... luv the beetles too especially the dark green one
We didn't intend going this year but we got a little stir crazy at home with the weather clearing, so thew the dogs in the back pumped up the tyres and we were off..... glad I did too it was a great turnout and good to meet other kombi-fans
Twas a good day, thank the heavens for the top weather
Yeah the entrance fee was anoying, however every time I go, i see something new on the scene.......so that's all good.
The Passat looked a bit outa place, parked amongst the kombi's the old greeny will be back there next year, after i have spent $$$$$$$$
Good to see some new faces, if i didnt get chance to speak to anyone i know, its because our pup was leading the way
