Selling as is. It is rather rusty. I’m told that it was a workhorse for about 15 years (1986?) before sitting till now in the paddock, out in the open.
To the best of my knowledge the only parts that are missing are the metal base for the rear seat, one of the wall cards in the rear, glovebox and its lid, and the three drop down gates. Many parts have rusted beyond use, such as the front cabin floor, battery tray and the sills.
I cannot crank the engine by hand – it’s a 1600.
I’m happy to take more photos as requested.
Price $2000 negotiable.
Actually, I want to sell this for the Best Offer by Sunday March 15th. PM or phone me with your best offer.
Contact: most convenient for me is a PM.
Phone 02 6336 0903 preferably after hours.
I am happy to be of assistance to transport companies where I can, and I would consider delivery at the buyer’s expense. I reckon I could take it to Sydney for $400, though I’d have to make a few phone calls to be more accurate in quoting.
I think it is worth restoring, that’s why I bought it. However, I'm very unlikely to find the time to do anything to this one in the next 10 years - its time to let someone else have a go at restoring their own lowlight DC. Lucky for you The Chief convinced me to not cut it up for parts.
I really wanted a DC to drive around while the kids are young enough to want to throw their bikes in the back and go camping for a night or two. So I bought myself a 1976 DC recently.
This is the driver's floor, the other side isn't so bad, but it is far from usable. The floor in the rest of the vehicle is okay.

I've taken a few more photos today, particularly of the underside. I put the front up on ramps and lay down underneath with the camera.
The floor itself is surprisingly solid (other than the cabin). The tray doesn't exist, but the beams and chassis are very good. The vents are solid.
This a selection of those available here: http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm133/OberonViking/VW%2071%20DC/
