HI ALL.
WHEN I BOUGHT MY BUS "BONNIE' I BASICALLY HAD A BLANK CANVAS INTERIOR.  THERE WAS THE USUAL GREY INSULATING PADDING UP ON THE ROOF AND STUCK FAST..HATED IT.  THEN I GOT TO KNOW TONI JONES (OTHER HALF OF THE BREWMASTER)  SHE HAD THIS THING ABOUT FUR AND I CAUGHT THE DISEASE TOO.
I WENT TO SPOTLIGHT AND BOUGHT THE SOFTEST FURRIEST IVORY FAUX FOX FUR FOR THE PRINCELY SUM OF $70 A METRE.
I CALCULATED I NEEDED 4 METRES.  I INITIALLY BOUGHT 1 METRE TO TEST IT OUT HAVING NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE.
THEN I WENT TO BUNNINGS AND BOUGHT THESE TWO HANDY ITEMS.

VERY HANDY INDEED.  TONI AND I DID SOME TEST MEASUREMENTS  FIRST BY FLEXIBLE MEASURING TAPE AND THEN MEASURING THE ACTUAL FUR.  iF YOU STICK THE FUR UP WITH THE FLUFFY GRAIN GOING FROM BACK TO FRONT THEN WHEN YOU HAVE THE WINDOWS OPEN IT WILL RUFFLE BACKWARDS AND THE EFFECT IS GREAT.  tHE FUR ALSO STRETCHES SIDEWAYS TOO SO IT MADE IT EASIER TO PLACE IT.
WE USED A TABLE OUTSIDE AND TONI PAINTED THE GLUE ON (NEAT)
AND I WENT IN THE BUS AND PAINTED IT UP ON THE ROOF..I PUT SHEETS DOWN ALL OVER TO GUARD AGAINST DRIPPAGE..AND THERE WIL BE SOME...SOMEONE TOLD ME YOU CAN THIN THE GLUE DOWN..IT MIGHT HAVE MADE IT EASIER I THINK BUT ANYWAY I STRUGGLED ONWARDS.
THIS GLUE YOU LET SIT FOR 10 MINUTES ANYWAY SO ITS TACKY.
WE APPLIED THE FUR FROM THE MIDDLE AND EACH OF US FLATTENED IT OUT.WE STOOD UNDER IT LIKE WE UNDER A TENT..TONI GOING FROM MIDDLE TO LEFT.. AND I GOING FROM MIDDLE TO RIGHT, SMOOTHING IT OUT AS WE WENT.  THERE WAS SOME LEFT OVER SO WE TUCKED IT INTO THE LIP EDGE THAT YOU CAN SEE HERE

WE PUSHED THE FUR IN AND THEN OVER THE INTERIOR RATHER THAN JUST TUCK IT IN....SO IT LOOKS LIKE THIS

WE DID THE SAME TECHNIQUE OVER THE WINDSCREEN.
WE MEASURED AND CUT THE LENGTHS OF THE FUR SO THEY SAT OVER EACH ROOF BEAM..THAT WAY IT WAS EASY TO MATCH UP THE NEXT PIECE......PLEASE PLEASE...ONLY USE A LENGTH OF FUR THAT GOES FROM FRONT TO ROOF BEAM AND THEN ANOTHER BEAM TO BEAM OTHERWISE IF YOU TRY TO GLUE A WHOLE BUS LENGTH YOU WILL (TO USE A PUN) COME UNSTUCK.  AS TONI USED TO SAY...FUR HIDES A MULTITUDE OF SINS...YES THIS JOB WAS SMELLY, STICKY AND BY NO MEANS PERFECT BUT IT IS STILL UP THERE AND LOOKS AND FEELS GREAT...THIS FUR DOES NOT FALL OUT ANY WHERE

They do have purple..but...it is the cheaper and nt so feel good variety//glowmonkey used that stuff i think...though his bus looks great it is a different fur...however you could soak it in a bath with some dye?...need loads drying...in this expensive fur they have animal fur types..you know...cheetah brown bear etc etc...mine was plain ivory..
