Liam wants me to ask whether a kombi will run if you disconnect the battery.
I personally think this is a ridiculous question. Any answers?
Ok, he has now clarified:
Will the engine continue to run off the alternator if you disconnect the battery while it is running?

Normally it will but not recommended- I think you have generator not alternator- .
It will need a few more revs to generate power where an alternator charges at idle.
Your John Muir has fair bit of info on this.

Cheers Brookie. Will get onto the book.
My BIL who is a kombi nut from way back is coming around to tinker. He says he's doing it as a favour, but I think he's been waiting for the day when he can play with a VW engine again.
