The 2008 Victorian Day of the Volkswagen was held today at Cranbourne showgrounds, and I am pleased to report that it was again a great day! The kombi contingent was much larger than last year, with many very desirable bays on display as well as the usual contingent of beautiful splits. There was also several T3 Synchros, karmann ghias and t3s, as well as many beetles. There were no country buggies this year, but there was a large contingent of Manxes due to the guest appearance of originator Bruce Meyers. I'm worn out from checking out so many VWs....
We entered our 72 camper (Woger) into the competition for a bit of fun (it cost only $10 more than walk-in entry, and also included a showbag), which allowed us to park in the field amongst the other contestants. Kids in particular were drawn to our pirate theme, but we were chuffed to see several people take pictures of our kombi. Needless to say, we didn't win any awards - but we had a great day nonetheless.
We only just got in the door, so I am a bit tired still... but I'll eventually post (many) more pix! _________________ ....Woz
