Enamel ?
Acrylic ?
2-pack ?
What and when to use.
I am doing a restore on a 76 deluxe bus, interior was original yellow/green. exterior is two tone blue and white painted over original yellow/green.
have stripped the inside back to metal and resprayed in Enamel - White, has come up nice however I am finding the paint soft and scratches easily. I am thinking about starting again. White enamel is 3 coats over Etch-primer and Primer 4 coats, no hardener.
I did a test case with a rattle can septone acrylic high gloss which has come up very nice... so far.. but have been reading too much and now am confused.
'Paint has come a long way in the last decade.. etc'
Some say enamel because of the old metal/paint combination if you want it to stick. more work to get mirror shine.
Acrylic may not stick so well to old metal/paint - respray required down the track
Two-Pack , the ducks nuts but dangerous to apply and should only be done by a professional ?
This is mainly for the inside as hopefully professional outside job depending on further test.
Anyone with some advice.
much appreciated
Thanks

Acrylic or Enamel now "acrylic enamel"
Thanks again

Acrylic enamel replaces the old enamels which were quite toxic by modern standards- they still conatin small lead amounts but will be phased out this year.
Chris at S & S is very knowledgable.
