Tickets to the 2009 Whiteman Park Classic Car show are now available from me.

It's on Sunday the 16th of March.

Phone 9342 8703 after normal working hours. Tickets are free.

I have allocated 10 tickets to TKK and NoH20 members, so get in early.

I must give VW Club members priority on the rest of the tickets that I have.

I have invited Sandscene members to bring buggies and I would like to see lots of Kombis as well.

We will be in the same place we were in last year, with a gazebo and an electric BBQ, but the Mini Owners Club will probably want to share the gazebo with us

Get there before 9 a.m. You cannot leave before 3.30 p.m.
Bring a chair, a picnic, shade, an esky etc.

Small tents that need small tent pegs are OK. Big markees that need big steel pegs need permits, so please don't bring one.

Advertising of your group/collective/club activities is OK as long as you keep it low key.

There will be a free BBQ supplied by the club at about 10 a.m to everyone, even to non-club members.

See you there.

Richard.

Nice one for organising all this Richard......  You lot out there get in contact with Richard and get your spot - I have said it before and will say it again this is a great car show and the Volkswagens have been lacking in their representation for the last few years.  We need your support!!!  Come on don't be shy!!!!

hi all
just a question, if you get tikets and go to the car show , does this mean you have to show your van off on the day ?? or can you just park and have a good look around whiteman park , as my van is not the best, for a show if you know what i mean, but would like to park it with all the other kombies and have a good day,
thanks all
Dave

Dave,

If you put your car into the VW area at Whiteman Park, you can just leave it there and walk around the entire show and enjoy everything there. I don't spend very much time with my vehicles. You only enter your vehicle into the concours if you want to.

You will find that you'll spend a fair bit of time talking and comparing notes with the other Veedub owners. It's generally a very good, interesting day and you can learn a lot and often pinch some good ideas from what others have done!

Sometimes it's good to see vehicles that need some restoration. The general public can then see how much work is needed to get the cars really up to scratch. A few years ago I displayed my Austin Seven as a rolling chassis with a rusty body on it. It looked awful, but it certainly attracted attention and questions from the public!

Hope to see you there!

Keith
